Orlando Rivera is a Senior Vice President and Head of Human Resources for Syncroa Guarantee Ltd.

Rivera has over 15 years of HR executive leadership.  He is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and responsible for all HR initiatives of Syncora and its subsidiaries Syncora Guarantee Inc. (formerly XL Capital Assurance Inc.) and Syncora Guarantee Re Ltd (formerly XL Financial Assurance Ltd) including executive contracts, health and retirement benefits, HR strategic planning, as well as recruitment and employee development.  He joined Syncora in 2006 to assist in the preparation for the firm’s initial public offering.

Prior to joining the firm, Rivera worked for XL America where he was the lead HR executive responsible for the Financial Products and Services segment, and the XL Capital Investment Partners businesses of Bermuda-based XL Capital Ltd.  During his career, he has served in various HR roles throughout the financial services industry including Gen Re Financial Products, Societe Generale, Arthur Andersen, Chase Manhattan Bank and Goldman Sachs. 

Rivera holds a B.S. in Labor Relations and Industrial Science from Cornell University.
